Mansion with lake view

The interior of this house is captivating in its laconic lines, multiplied by the beauty of natural textures, the impeccably sounding color ensemble, and the thoughtfulness of every detail, both architectural and decorative.

The owner of a spacious house approached the authors of the project, architect Maxim Astakhov and designer-decorator Ekaterina Yakovenko. He took the design of luxury hotels as an aesthetic guide for the future interior, especially since his field of activity is related to the hotel business. He wanted to see the space elegant, prestigious, but not overloaded, so that the purity of lines and laconic forms were at the forefront, and luxurious natural textures were primarily responsible for the decorative component. It was their diversity, from marble and onyx to wood and nubuck, that provided the project with amazing multi-layeredness and expressiveness.

The house project was carried out individually, which allowed to use the advantages of the site to the maximum – thus, inspiring views of the lake open from the windows, while the nearby houses go “out of frame”. This approach required a lot of work – in particular, the site was terraced, an arch was developed that connects the volumes of the house and allows access from the outer courtyard to the inner one, etc.

In addition to the basement, the house includes two floors. The first was given over to the executive area: the living room, fireplace, dining room and kitchen smoothly flow into each other, creating a feeling of endless space. Also on the first floor are two guest bedrooms.

At the level of the first floor there is also a SPA area: you can get to this wing both from the street and through the living room.

The second floor is the private territory of the owners: here the common hall unites four sleeping blocks – rooms with their own bathroom and dressing room. On the second floor there is also a study, where nothing will distract from work.

The basement floor includes auxiliary rooms: from a laundry room to a beauty salon and a cook’s kitchen. It should be noted that the project provides for a professional kitchen with all the specialized equipment, but at the same time, the kitchen of the house also has everything necessary for cooking.

Since the furniture had to fit into non-standard dimensions, all components were made to order, which only benefited the interior, making the aesthetic space also as functional as possible.

Free-standing furniture was brought from Italy, but most of the elements were later adapted to the interior so that all the details were in tune with the overall picture. Almost all the chandeliers were also made to order: sketches by Ekaterina Yakovenko and Maxim Astakhov, together with Patrizia Garganti, were brought to life in factories in Italy and the Czech Republic.

When developing the furniture, the authors of the project adhered to the chosen concept, combining luxurious textures in different combinations.

Stone of different types was used especially actively in the design: 16 types of marble were used. The highlight was the panels decorating the walls and partly the ceilings: leather and nubuck appear in an extraordinary combination with American walnut. The proximity of marble and American walnut, glass and crystal, metal and stone brought aristocratic, noble notes to the interior, made it visually very rich with a delicate color scheme.

While creating the most complex decorative solutions, the authors of the project did not forget about the comfort of the owners for a minute. For example, storage systems were made according to individual sketches taking into account all possible scenarios for placing things. Convenient pantographs, shoe shelves, storage spaces for accessories – despite the fact that the individual execution of dressing rooms increased the budget of the project, these expenses were fully justified.

The bathrooms were also equipped in such a way that each of them had high-quality and stylish plumbing equipment: from bathtubs and showers to bidets. All bathrooms are designed in the same style and are decorated with marble in a duet with Italian porcelain stoneware.
